Years of environmental concern on our beach particularly blowing sand. You drop the water table and our relic beach gets dryer meaning more lost sand. This request denies those facts. Please explain why permission to do this would ever be granted?

My main concern about this proposal is the location. First, the site plan submitted with this application is for the original location. As of November 2021 the whole development moved to a new location about 200 or 300 feet to the east. Lire davantage

I am highly concerned about the proposal to dewater the sandy beach area for construction purposes. This would be so much water to pump out of the ground consistently. I can’t see how this is ecologically sound. Where would the water go?! Lire davantage

This plan is very environmentally risky and very ill advised. If you need to spend 3 YEARs removing ground water to make building on the site viable then it is a bad idea. As well, it will impact other buildings in the area and thus could incur unknown costs. Lire davantage

Are you aware that Port Elgin is home to a fish hatchery? And that many years ago the town used used oil to lay the dust on the beach where the dewatering will take place. What will this do to our fish if contaminated water is pumped into the lake at this site?

This is a huge mistake. The Ministry of Natural Resources assisted in getting a stop work order for raking in Sauble Beach because of the plover a protected species. Port Elgin has advertised the plover nests on their beach .. How they protected the nests with a fence. Lire davantage

I am very concerned about the impact this will have on Lake Huron and any surrounding streams, including any possible under ground ones. There is in my opinion to much risk to the environment and surrounding dwellings that currently exist for this to be approved. Lire davantage

Please investigate this project THOROUGHLY! This CCV project will devastate the main beach in Port Elgin. This is far too large of a project for a small beautiful natural beach. Very frightening if this project goes forward. Thank you
