I do not support this…

I do not support this application to take excessive amounts of water for the construction on the building at 122 Elgin Street Port Elgin. It is incredible the township entertains this type of development and may permit this type of variance. Home owners who try to build on their properties face far greater scrutiny and obstacles in terms of set backs, Saugeen Conservation Authority regulations, First Nations archaeological site investigation and other environmental hurdles. Lake Huron and its beautiful beaches are Saugeen Shores greatest asset and draw for visitors. This construction project will strain and diminish our most important local natural resource and I do not support it. Consider these facts:
- This building project does not conform to the municipality master plan.
- This building site is in a flood plane
- No environmental impact study has been conducted.
