Hi I am very concerned with the proposed increase emissions that this application will have for the quality of life in the neighbourhood! As someone who works outside and who passes by the businesses in question there is a tangible odour coming from these places. Read more

This community consists of both industrial and residential; it would be completely irresponsible to allow additional contaminates to enter the environment with so many families and small children living nearby. Read more

Please do not allow additional emissions from this industry into our residential neighbourhood. Mount Dennis is a neighbourhood exploited for a generation in the name of progress and now as the urban environment envelopes the area needs to heal from the slaughterhouses, incinerators and chemicals Read more

As a resident that lives near the St. Helen's facility, I am strongly opposed to this proposal. St. Helen’s Meat Packers Ltd. is in very close proximity to places where people live, shop, and eat. It is also adjacent to Lavender Creek, and the walking trail that runs along the creek. Read more

I live 2.9 km from St Helen's Meat packers. Occasionally I do get an unpleasant odour when I am outdoors. Now that they are building a new plant about halfway towards my home, I expect things to get much worse. Read more

The smell in the area is already bad and will only get worse if St Helen's increases processing. As a homeowner, this is not ok. When I bought, the smell wasn't nearly as bad as it has been the last few summers. Allowing this change will only decrease my property value. Read more

Lots of residential around. New condos going up and shopping. Adding more burners will make the are stink more and drive people away. NO ONE in the community is for this. This area is growing and this will only hurt what the area is becoming.

As a resident in this area I urge the City to prevent any expansion of these emissions. I am actually deeply shocked that the emissions have not been reduced (or eliminated) given the density of the residential neighbourhood and the shopping complex. Read more

We own a home in this area and do not want more truck traffic OR more emissions going into our neighbourhood. It’s disgusting to us that the city would consider permitting this sort of thing so close to so many homes and schools. Read more

Increasing the allowance of emissions for an industry that is already one of the worst in the world for the environment is absolutely appalling. If fact, the polar opposite should be the action taken — to decrease emissions from slaughterhouses and meat packers. Read more

The smell is horrifying and makes me worry for my health, my family’s health and my neighbour’s health. We should be working to eliminate businesses that produce these smells. It deters me from using businesses like The Stockyards Mal and places along St Clair between Runnymede and Keele. Read more

I acknowledge that the meat packers were here before I purchased my house but the area has become more residential than industrial over the last 10 years. This is no longer an area suitable for the meat packing industry and I don't wish to see them expand. Read more
