The Ontario Government has made a temporary regulation to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. This regulation exempts all proposals for policies, acts, regulations and instruments from posting requirements under the EBR and removes the requirement to consider Statements of Environmental Values for its duration.
Permit to Take Water No. 6551-BCWQSV was issued, which cancels and replaces Permit to Take Water No. 5222-9L2QKE. The permit was issued on June 7, 2019 with an expiry date of June 7, 2029.

To further reduce regulatory burden for the waterpower sector while maintaining environmental protection, we have removed existing Permits to Take Water for waterpower facilities. This action follows amendments to the Ontario Water Resources Act in December 2019 that removed the need for these facilities to have a Permit to Take Water.
