Re: ERO 019-3485

It seems very strange to me that lands acquired by the City from the County of Brant (namely C9), directly adjacent to an existing subdivision with services, were not added to the Settlement Boundary in this most recent Official Plan.

In the 11th hour, the City added 100 acres northeast of C9 - in actual fact, this property was the furthest from existing services.

It is distressing that we were unable to appeal through LPAT and have been told that these comments will be reviewed but unless the City supports the decision to add C9, it will in all likelihood not happen. I am uncertain as to the integrity of this type of process. I find it hard to believe that the City staff would now support this action while not during times of public input. That would be admitting a mistake and who wants to do that, especially when they have put in so much time to prepare this Plan and have spent so many of the public's salary dollars.

For what staff is proposing, the cost of new infrastucture will be prohibitive, or at the very least considerably more than developing C9 and hooking into existing services.

This seems to be poor planning and I hope that the Ministry supports our concerns.
