I think you should be aware that the site map provided by the hydrologist is inaccurate. It shows the original site with bore holes for removing water marked. This is not the current site of the proposed development. Also, in the report it states that they did hydrology samples down 100 feet. That is also incorrect. The drillers who were doing the work last summer said they were doing 20 ft drill samples.
A professional planner was not hired to oversee this development and as a result they are relying on the staff of the town to be submitting many of the documents. Neither an Environmental Impact Statement or Planning Application has been sent to Bruce County or Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority. The town insists an EIS is not required and believes they have moved the development out of the reach of the SVCA. We disagree. It has not been proven yet that this development is not going to be on the dynamic beach of the Port Elgin waterfront.
