The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-24-000065 to South Timmins Mining Inc. for early exploration activities.

We have granted approval to 2399296 Ontario Inc. (operating as Arts Metal), located in Toronto, Ontario, to be registered under the Technical Standards Registry – Air Pollution. This facility will adhere to all technical and operational requirements in the Metal Finishers – Industry Standard.

Approval was granted for a site plan amendment to allow Lafarge Canada Inc., in the Township of Zorra to operate the mobile processing plans in the Central Block of the site 24 hours per day, 7days per week. The approval authorizes several revisions to the Operational Site Plan to reflect the updated technical recommendations for noise.

Teeswater Concrete Inc. were issued a licence to extract aggregate from a pit in the Municipality of South Bruce.

McNichols Construction Ltd. was issued a licence to extract aggregate from a pit in the Township of South Frontenac.

Approval was granted for a site plan amendment to allow Bedard Sand and Gravel Limited to increase the extraction area and amend the seasonal operating restrictions for Licence No. 624854, operating in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

Permit to Take Water No. 7352-CXNTJF was issued to SMC (Canada) Ltd., on May 10, 2024, to renew Permit to Take Water No. 4270-AQPHN2 for industrial purposes. Water will be taken from two lakes, Giroux Lake and Glen Lake, located in the Geographic Township of Coleman, District of Timiskaming, Ontario for 5 years.

We issued an amended Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (LOF) to Nestlé Canada Inc. to renew their Limited Operational Flexibility for their Facility located at 72 Sterling Road, 100 Sterling Road, 113 Sterling Road, and 1900 Dundas Street West, in Toronto, Ontario.

This approval is for an Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise) for Bird Construction Industrial Services Ltd., a ready-mix concrete plant, located at Part of Lot 4, Concession 7 & 8 Township of Buchanan and Part of Lot 3, Concession 8 Village of Chalk River, Ontario.

A Certificate of Property Use was issued to HIP Abstract GP Inc. for the property located at 659 & 667 King Street West, in the City of Kitchener on May 27, 2024.

An amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval (air and noise) No. 3613-A2KPR7 with Operational Flexibility was issued to Northern Sun Mining Corp., a mill processing nickel, copper, and gold ore located in South Porcupine, Ontario.

We have approved the three regulated manuals under the Crown Forest Sustainability Act (CFSA). The revisions align with the Sustainable Growth: Ontario’s Forest Sector Strategy and modernize the forest management planning and wood measurement processes while continuing to provide for the sustainability of Ontario’s forests.
