The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing is entering its third and final phase of consultation on the next edition of Ontario’s Building Code. As part of this phase, changes to an energy efficiency requirement and sewage system provisions (Part 8 of the Building Code) are proposed.
The Province has assigned housing targets to 29 selected lower- and single-tier municipalities in Southern Ontario. These selected municipalities will work towards achieving these targets by 2031.
The government is seeking feedback on potential legislative changes, regulatory changes, policy and other matters to help the government achieve its goal of building 1.5 million homes over the next ten years as part of More Homes Built Faster: Ontario’s Housing Supply Action Plan: 2022-2023.
