Public health date shows my neighborhood has very high rates of asthma and I worry that increased pollution in our air will make those who suffer with asthma feel worse. It will aggravate their symptoms. The odor in my neighborhood is already absolutely disgusting and oppressive 15/30 days for sure. Public health data also shows our neighborhood has high rates of some cancers. Could that be linked to our neighborhoods industrial history? There are days I have went to the stockyards shopping plaza and decided to not get out of my car after smelling the foul, foul odour of death and chemicals in the air. It can smell like rotting flesh. I have begun call the MOE on days when it is unbearable. There is a new condo being built on St.Clair Ave less than 1 KM away from Glen Scarlet. It is time to stop allowing the smell, and the toxins flow freely into our homes. Increasing the emissions is like rolling back time to 1960's. The old "stockyards" are gone. The area has become a shopping hub, and many local breweries have opened near by.
