To whom it may concern, We are a family of 4. We recently moved to the neighborhood in March 2017. My two sons are 3 years old and 18 months. Both my husband and I worked really hard to afford to buy a house. Was South-Weston our first neighborhood choice? No... For obvious reason. However, we could not afford the houses over a million. We were certain that the slaughter house will go away sometime soon. It seems so strange to have this kind of industry in a middle of a residential neighborhood. However, few month after we moved in we learned that not only St helen is not going anywhere, they are actually extending! From that point our community has been raising their concern. Finally South Weston is waking up! We want to do better for our families, our children! How come we have the highest rate of asthma in the city of Toronto!?! As a mother I am extremely concern. BUT cannot offer a better environment to my children. I need our government to step in and take action in order to protect their inhabitant. These is their role. While I fully understand that companies and business need to have a place to be I also believe that this type of industry should be located far away from a residential area. We would love to welcome new businesses, like the breweries. But please do not allow St Helen to continue make the smell and the quality of the air worse than it is right now. Please help us to make sure we are given the best to our children. They deserve protection! Thank you in advance for helping my family, my community. Do not forget us. Lise
