I oppose any growth and further emissions in our neighbourhood due to the slaughter industry. Not
only are the residents upset that city surplus land (which is a flood plain, Rockliffe CRT), but
the disgusting smells we encounter at random times of day is concerning as they have been getting
more frequent. Something is out of control in the Stockyards. This are is expanding residentially
and I do not see how an industry like this should also be allowed to grow.
Bottom line, we are forced indoors at times when smells are really bad. That means not enjoying our
back yards or being embarrassed by the smells when entertaining. Sure, the slaughter industry was
here first, but why then let residential expansions and the city is only growing more and pushing
industries further out. The trucks that drive around here slow traffic and many concerns for our
children’s safety.
Please do not let these discussing smells and polutants expand here. Many of us have no idea if we
are breathing toxic chemicals!
We oppose the expensing of further emissions please and thanks.
