This is a ridiculous amount of "free" water to beautify a golf course for the wealthy, while the rest of the"folks" can barely afford to pay our water bills. Ground water and streams are an essential part of our ecosystem and any change can be determential to hundreds of species. Read more

I oppose this request. All golf courses should have access to water based on size and it should be as sustainable as possible. If Chedoke only uses 49,161 m3 why does Hamilton want access to 4.2 Million m3 ? It is ridiculous in these environmentally 'woke' times. Read more

Any water takings should be carefully reviewed, including consideration of the takings required by existing households using the same water and takings that might be required by future planned developments. Read more

During unprecedented times of water insecurity and climate change, it would be irresponsible to allow for mass irritation of a golf course. I propose implementing better landscape measures that retain stormwater on site. Read more

How can we honestly say that watering a golf course is more important than the ecosystems it will be drawing from!? Every summer we go through water bans - meaning the streams/ponds will dry up also. Read more

As a Hamilton resident and citizen strongly concerned for the sustainability of our environment, I vehemently oppose this proposal of the Hamilton Golf and Country Club to take excessive amounts of our water supplies for the frivolous and utterly self-entitled purpose of maintaining a private golf c Read more

It is unacceptable that Hamilton Golf and Country Club are requesting that their water permit renewal be a category three. It is offensive that a 27 hole golf course feels it is entitled to more water, than a much larger golf course. Read more

I just read about the absurd amount of water that the Hamilton Golf & Country Club (HGCC) wants to remove from our natural water stores in Hamilton - millions of cubic metres! This is just wrong. Read more

My wife and I have been residents of Ancaster all our lives. We would not want the ERO to give the Hamilton Golf and Country a permit to take valuable natural water from Ancaster Creek. The environmental damage that could be done is too high a risk to take. Read more

The 27 hole Hamilton Golf and Country Club has submitted a request to the Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO) to renew their Permit to Take Water for commercial (irrigation) purposes, 4.2 Million m3 of water per year for the duration of the 10 year permit. Read more

In light of climate change with all its vagaries of heat domes, warmer winters, less snow melt, now could be the time to alter the irrigation practices of the Hamilton Golf & Country Club. Read more

The Hamilton Golf and Country Club should be practicing sustainable methods in maintaining their property instead of requesting a permit to take water from, wells, ponds, and Ancaster Creek. Read more

It's worry some the amounts of water that is proposed to be taken out of Ancaster Creek and the surrounding watershed for such a niche usage. Hamilton until very recently has been in a drought which this will cause even more ill effects to. This will harm the already sensitive ecosystem around it.

Please do not grant a permit to the HHCC to extract millions of litres of water from sensitive creeks and reservoirs. We cannot afford such a loss for a nonessential use such as golf. Chedoke GC has used Far less water and perhaps has a lesson To teach . Read more
