Original proposal
Proposal details
This proposal is for an amendment to the existing Environmental Compliance Approval No. 2592-B83KSN to construct stormwater management (SWM) works that will capture runoff from the re-located compost curing and storage areas. GFL Environmental Inc. owns and operates the Eastern Ontario Waste Handling Facility Landfill and Composting site, located at 17125 Lafleche Road in the Township of North Stormont, Ontario.
This amendment includes:
- a stormwater management wet pond
- a stormwater detention pond
- leaf and yard retention pond
- associated drainage ditches
The works will capture run-off from a total area of 28 hectares, and will have a single discharge outlet to the Albert Fahey Award Drain.
Design criteria for water quantity control and water quality are in accordance with the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks' standards and guidelines.
Construction of the SWM works is anticipated to commence in Summer 2022 and become operational before the end of 2022.
