Proposal details

This proposal is for an amendment to the Limited Operational Flexibility for an Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 6339-AFBHAG for ABB Industrial Solutions (Canada) Inc., a facility that services and repairs electric motors, transformers and breakers, and other electrical equipment, located in the City of Burlington, Ontario.

The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that exhaust to the air include painting, sand blasting, welding, and curing oven burn-off, as well as any other equipment and ancillary and support processes and activities.

The amendment includes the addition of a sub-slab depressurization soil vapour intrusion mitigation system to the site that will be operated by a third party.

Emissions to the air from this facility include calcium fluoride, ethylbenzene, hexavalent chromium, lead, and nickel.

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry Page 2 date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
