Why consultation isn't required

On April 1, 2020, the Ontario Government made a temporary regulation to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. Ontario Regulation 115/20 exempts all proposals for policies, acts, regulations and instruments from posting requirements under the EBR until 30 days after the declared emergency is terminated.

Proposal details

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (Air) for Metrocon Readymix Corp., a ready-mix concrete batching plant located at 89 Fenmar Drive in Toronto, Ontario.

This application includes all emission sources from the facility that exhaust to the atmosphere including one ready-mix concrete plant including the following equipment:

  • two storage silos with associated dust collectors
  • the loading point for materials and associated dust collector
  • material handling
  • a natural gas-fired boiler

Contaminant emissions to the air from this facility include particulate matter including portland cement and slag, nitrogen oxides and other products of combustion.
