Aggregate Resources Act Licence No. 626032 was issued on August 18, 2020 to Halton Crushed Stone Limited. The licenced area is 62.3 hectares in size and the annual tonnage is 725,600 tonnes. The site is licenced to operate in the Township of Erin and is subject to the Prescribed Conditions (Schedule A) and condition outlined on Schedule B.

Effects of consultation
No comments were received in response to the Environmental Registry notice.
Thirteen (13) objections were received during the Aggregate Resources Act consultation process. Public and agency concerns were related to the potential impact that the proposed aggregate operation would have on property values, water quantity and quality, dust, noise and truck traffic.
The applicant provided additional information and revised site plans, however was not successful in resolving all objections raised. The application was referred to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal for a hearing. The Local Planning Appeal Tribunal directed the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry to issue the licence subject to the site plans and conditions identified in the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal’s decision (July 2, 2020 File No. MM190008).

This notice was updated on April 16, 2019 to advise the public that this application under the Aggregate Resources Act has been referred by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal. Please refer to http://elto.gov.on.ca/tribunals/lpat/e-status/ for information on scheduled hearings of the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal.
This notice was updated on August 10, 2018 to advise the public that there has been no change to the status of the proposal and it is still being considered. No additional opportunity for comment is being provided for at this time.
Description of instrument
Halton Crushed Stone Ltd. has applied for a Class “A” licence (Pit Above Water) to excavate aggregate from a pit 62.3 hectares in size. This application is for the expansion of an established pit. The annual tonnage condition applied for is 725,600 tonnes per calendar year, in combination with the adjoining licence (#5598).

Halton Crushed Stone Ltd. operates this site under the authority of Licence #5598 under the Aggregate Resources Act. In total, approximately 102 hectares are licensed.

Comments received through the Environmental Registry should not be construed as an objection under the Aggregate Resources Act in accordance with section 4.0 – Notification and Consultation Standards of the Provincial Standards 1.0 under the ARA. To be considered as a formal objector, individuals need to contact the MNRF person specified on this notice to determine how to submit an objection.
Other public consultation opportunities
As specified in the Aggregate Resources Act, written notice concerning this application was delivered to landowners within 120 metres of the proposed licenced boundary; an information sign, giving notice to the public of this application was erected at the proposed site; and a Notice of Application appeared in the local paper, the Wellington Advertiser, on May 13, 2016. A public information session will be held on June 6, 2016 at 7:00pm at the Erin Community Centre, 14 Boland Drive, Erin, ON.
The application for this proposal will be circulated within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Guelph District office. Additionally, notification of this application has been forwarded to the County of Wellington, the Town of Erin, and the Credit Valley Conservation Authority.
MNRF Guelph District provides notification to the Mississaugas of New Credit of all ARA complete applications within their asserted Traditional Territory.
