Hello,

I am a resident of Greater Napanee, and I am a mother with three young children. As a family, we often spend the majority of our time outdoors. I believe that any approval would hurt my family and our mental health and physical well-being. I am firmly opposed to the proposal by Tomlinson to build an Asphalt Plant at 8205 County Road 2.

I am concerned about:
my time in my backyard and at the local park (Springside) would be negatively affected by smells and awareness that the air may potentially be harmful to myself and children
I am worried about the long-term impact on my children. Is this the new asbestos?
The current operations are already enough. The dust that blows off the property and crushers running during the days and evenings have already hurt my quality of life.
The town has said no and stated that we are a non-willing host at this location.
There is no meaningful resolution process as it currently stands. When a crusher is running late, or the plant is allowed to run 24 hours, I fear that there will be no rest or peace for residents.

In light of these and other unresolved concerns, I therefore request that the Ministry refuse to grant an air and noise Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) to Tomlinson under the Environmental Protection Act in relation to the asphalt plant, the concrete batching plant, and any other new or historically unapproved emissions from the site. In my view, issuing an ECA for these proposed sources of air contaminants is unreasonable and could potentially result in significant environmental harm.
