Please do not let this developer remove any of the 56 Category 2 Butternut trees or negatively impact any of the 3 hectares of Butternut habitat, just so they can built a few more houses.

Please protect these trees. It is so important to protect them, especially because many of these new growth seedlings or saplings will one day grow into mature healthy trees. If they are not protected, we will loose a significant mature woodlot containing many healthy Butternut in 3 hectares in the future.

The Endangered Species Act was create specifically for this reason, for protection and conservation of these beautiful trees.

It is not correct that a woodlot containing 56 Butternut Trees should be removed, just to permit a developer to build a few more homes. Make the developer modify their plans and have them protect and enhance this woodlot.

Please help the Town of Whitby and the conservation authority protect these special trees.
