I am a landowner, very concerned about the size of the trailer park being proposed at Macey Bay and the environmental impact that it will have.

The proposed development is surrounded by the very sensitive PS-EPS of Tobie’s Wetland. I am worried that a development of the size planned will destroy much of the habitat of the species at risk that live there. These have been well documented in the Peer Reviews on this project that have been posted on the Georgian Bay Township’s Web Site. I am also concerned that it will have an adverse effect on water quality and preservation of Georgian Bay.

The whole project and the alarming size of it should be further reviewed with great scrutiny with a specific focus on protecting the sensitive environment and the many species at risk that live there.

My understanding, from a resident’s perspective is the following:
1. The applicant, Macey Bay Development Corporation seems to use deceptive and non government conforming tactics to proceed with the development of Macey Bay Trailer Park, in order to profit for themselves.
a. The applicant changed their corporate name to HHMB. It would appear this is a move to confuse the public and those concerned with the proposed development.
2. Peer Reviews – there seems to be very little progress to address the suggestions provided pertaining to the protection of species at risk. This needs to be addressed and given more time to review.
3. There has been little to no, public input process provided.
a. Peer reviews suggest the applicant is not wanting to listen and not taking the environmental concerns seriously to protect species at risk.
