It will be devasting to allow this company any further expansion of their business while the current issues that concern the neighbourhood remain unresolved. For years they have repeatedly gotten away with creating noise 24 hours a day with residents trying to sleep within less than 20 meters of their operation. However just recently, they have been abiding by a no-noise from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am demand imposed by the zoning officer. We are concerned that this may be a short-lived implementation Paint and other unidentified odours which have not been tested for carcinogens or other health issues are a continuous concern, not only for the adult residents but even more importantly for the young children. It is unbelievable that with all of the environmental guidelines and policies at all levels of government, that this company is still allowed to operate their business directly abutting and within very close proximity to a residential area. Truck traffic has been another major issue. There are often 2-3 tractor-trailers parked on both sides of the road, making it unsafe for other vehicles to safely bypass them, especially with a 90 degree curve just yards from their entrance. I just went past there after dark this week and there was a tractor trailer backed into the driveway with lights shining into the homes across the street on Wigle Ave. Only by restricting expansion of their operations, will they take notice that it is not alright to ignore resident concerns and perhaps we will finally get some resolution.
