Effects of consultation

Comments were considered.

Two public comments were received. The residents raised concerns about the odour emissions from the painting operation and the noise from fork lifts.

Ministry response:

The company is required to raise the height of the paint booth stack to 12.5 metres above grade to improve the air dispersion of the air emissions. The paint consumption rates are not permitted to be increased from the existing levels. Supporting information for the application indicate that air emissions from the facility are in compliance with current ministry's standards.

The company has submitted a noise abatement action plan with a six month deadline. An Acoustic Audit condition is included in the ECA so that a third party can verify post-abatement noise emissions.
