Our property runs adjacent to the new quarry expansion site, I have major concerns with this proposal. There are many things that will be affected in this small community surrounding the quarry. There are farmers fields, family homes, businesses, wildlife, 2 nature trails that are used by hundreds of people and families. With the proposal of a dry sump being drilled and water slowly draining through fractured rock, which according to Morrison Heschfield, there is no fractured rock in the area, who will be monitoring for run off and contamination? 28 hours is required to settle out solids and contamination in the water, if this operation is to be run 24 hours how does this leave time for the water to settle and get rid of contaminants, who will be monitoring this? How do we know we will be safe from contamination. How will Coco paving be held accountable for clean up of wells and soil. Will the community be given money every month to have our wells tested to ensure we aren’t being contaminated. Does this not go against every environmental rule? How can this be safe for people in the area and the environment. What impact will this have on the environment when there is contamination? To me this is a no brainer, what good could ever come of this?! In no way do we support this.
