Symbridges owns and operates a property located at 150 Symes Rd which is nearby the applicants’ operations. We have recently spent in excess of 14 million dollars renovating and restoring a heritage building, adjacent garage and associated site costs. The property is currently leased to 3 tenants and is site plan approved to build more buildings on the 150 Symes property We think it is important that before an ECA is granted, the applicant be required to conduct an odour study of all on site point sources and fugitive emissions in order to demonstrate that odour will be below odour detection levels at off-property sensitive receptors. The study should be conducted by a qualified and independent consultant. If study shows odour impact to be above odour detection threshold then immediate installation of odour controls should be required in order to render odour non-detectable.
