A quarry should not be allowed to be developed so close to the QEII Wildlands Provincial Park.
Especially one that would take aggregate from below the water table. This would have a major
negative impact on the ecological integrity of the area. By going below the water table this would
impact the wetlands in the park. This would imperil a species listed at risk that resides in the
park as well as several other species. Increased truck traffic and dust from the quarry operation
would also threaten the park and wildlife that inhabit the park and surrounding area.
Ontario needs to address its insatiable appetite for gravel. The current government wants to
portray itself as a 'green' government. In keeping with this goal this application should be
denied. Do not approve this quarry.
