According to an email from Darryl Hagman of the MNRF there have been no technical studies done on
the Carmeuse sites because of “Grandfathering”.
AS A CITIZEN, IF I WISH TO UPGRADE OR CHANGE MY HOUSE WIRING, I AM REQUIRED TO BRING EVERYTHING UP
TO CODE.
IF A COMPANY IS UPGRADING THEIR LICENSE IS THIS NOT A PRUDENT OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO ENSURE THAT
THE PROPER TECHNICAL STUDIES ARE DONE TO PROTECT PUBLIC SAFETY ?
IN ORDER TO AQUIRE A LICENSE,
OTHER QUARRYS ARE REQUIRED TO DO A HOST OF TECHNICAL STUDIES !!!
(WELL INTERFERENCE, FIELD SURVEYS, BEDROCK GEOLOGY, HYDROGEOLOGICAL, TO NAME A FEW).
SHOULD THIS COMPANY NOT BE REQUIRED TO THIS AS WELL?
