Why bother having a comment period - Does it really matter? - History shows that no matter the opposition to these applications they just get rubber stamped - In Quarry land even an empty hole is a precious resource since it is needed as a repository for millions of tonnes of solid waste and questionable excess soils - The one thing I do understand about this request is WHY? What is the advantage to Carmeuse to amalgamate the licences so they can extract less aggregate - Nobody is forcing them to take the maximum annual rate just like conditions do not require them to take the maximum amount of permitted water. And why is the comprehensive site plan not available either on the ebr or Carmeuse website. Not even being able to understand the scope of the changes would limit how much time one should set aside if any to view at the Ministry offices. Rather disappointed lately by the processes - they seem designed to keep the public at bay rather than engaged
