We have completed our public consultation originally posted in 2013 and we used the comments we received to further revise the guidance document.

Given the length of time since the previous posting and updates made to the document, we are once again seeking comments (019-2557) to ensure that the updated guidance reflects the need of stakeholders

The minister has issued an overall benefit permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 to 2555569 Ontario Inc. to allow for the construction of an access road that will impact two species at risk and their habitat. The permit includes actions to minimize adverse effects, benefit the species, and monitoring and reporting requirements.

The variance has been approved.

The ministry issued an Environmental Compliance Approval to Lafarge Canada Inc. for the establishment of sewage works for the collection, transmission, treatment and disposal of water accumulating within the confines of the existing extraction area of the McAdoo Quarry located in the City of Kingston.

The ministry issued an Environmental Compliance Approval to Halton Crushed Stone Limited for the establishment of sewage works for the collection, transmission, treatment and reuse of wash water from a proposed aggregate wash plant located within the Kirkfield Quarry site in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

The ministry issued an amended Environmental Compliance Approval to LK Aurora Inc. for the establishment of sewage works for the treatment and subsurface disposal of sanitary sewage servicing a new commercial development located in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Regional Municipality of York.

This decision is for a new Permit to Take Water for construction dewatering purposes for 2118356 Ontario Inc. Water will be taken from three ponds related to construction of a proposed residential development, located in the City of Ottawa, Ontario. Permit to Take Water No. 8713-BSDKRR was issued on October 6, 2020 for a period of 4 years.

An Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) has been granted to Sarnia Paving Stone Ltd., a waste and recyclable materials facility located in Sarnia, Ontario.

This decision is for a renewal of Permit To Take Water No. 4530-88XN89 for golf course irrigation purposes. Water will be taken from eight ponds located in the Town of Essex. Permit to Take Water No. P-300-7091521587 was issued on September 17, 2020 for a period of 10 years.

This decision is to renew Permit to Take Water Number No. 6834-876RSV for the purpose of a heat pump. Water will be taken from one well located in the City of Woodstock, County of Oxford, Ontario. Permit to Take Water No. 6267-BTVR2D was issued on September 28, 2020 for 10 years.

This decision is for a renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 1016-8JFK9Q for Compass Minerals Canada Corp. for industrial purposes. Water will be taken from one watercourse related to industrial activities, located in the Town Of Goderich, Ontario. Permit to Take Water No. 8122-BW3NJT was issued on December 8, 2020 for 10 years.

This decision is to renew Permit to Take Water No. 7758-AEFQAV for dewatering purposes. Water will be taken from well points related to construction activities, located in the Town of Saugeen Shores, County of Bruce, Ontario. Permit to Take Water No. 4655-BWHN73 was issued on December 21, 2020 for a period of 5 years.

This decision is for a renewal of Permit To Take Water No. 7324-9GUNRL for Glencore Canada Corporation for industrial purposes. Water will be taken from the Moose Creek to supply process water to the Strathcona Mill, located in the City Greater Sudbury, Ontario. Permit to Take Water No. 4075-BUTLCG was issued on October 29, 2020 for 10 years.

This decision is for the renewal of Permit To Take Water No. 1865-86MLHK for golf course irrigation at St. Marys Golf and Country Club Ltd., located in St. Marys, Ontario. Permit to Take Water No. 4277-BMYLQX was issued on April 6, 2020 for a period of 10 years.

This decision is for a renewal of permit to take water No. 5514-83DLBD for 1028541 Ontario Ltd. for golf course irrigation purposes. Permit to Take Water No. 2855-BVHSJL was issued on November 19, 2020 for a period of 10 years.

A licence to operate a quarry was issued to R.W. Tomlinson Limited in the City of Ottawa.

An Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), which replaces all the current Environmental Compliance Approvals for air at this facility and includes the addition of new, or historically unapproved, sources for all emissions from the facility was issued to EACOM Timber Corporation, a softwood lumber mill.
