Why consultation isn't required
This bulletin is for information only, as a Closure Plan Amendment is not an instrument under the Environmental Bill of Rights, 1993. The Ministry of Mines is posting this bulletin to the Environmental Registry to keep the public informed of changes to mining projects in Ontario. Bulletin details
The proposed changes to the project are as follows:
- a new 'phase 6' tailings cell to meet production requirements, life of mine
- an overburden stockpile, required to meet closure plan commitments
- the expansion of the closure plan boundary, required to facilitate the works
- paste backfill plant required to meet underground operations production requirements for the life of mine
