Proposal details

This proposal is to amend the Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 4498-BJ6TF9 for CalClean Inc., for the operation of mobile High Vacuum Dual Phase Extraction (HVDPE) remediation systems equipped with granular activated carbon (GAC) units.

This application is to add an optional Zeolite pellet treatment tank to the existing HVDPE facility, and to add a second identical mobile HVDPE remediation system to operate simultaneously at a separate property.

The sources at the facility include a non-emergency generator, and two mobile HVDPE remediation systems with an optional Zeolite pellet treatment tank. The equipment will be used for the treatment of various contaminants in soil vapour and groundwater throughout the Province of Ontario and can potentially operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:

  • benzene
  • benzo-a-pyrene
  • chromium VI (hexavalent)
  • nickel
  • nitrogen oxides
  • petroleum hydrocarbons
  • uranium
