Proposal details
ReSoil Solutions Inc. owns and operates a facility located at 14 Cedar Drive in the City of Markham, Ontario, that accepts, processes, and transfers non-hazardous liquefied soil and slurry from hydrovac vehicles.
On site processes include offloading, screening and dewatering. The facility operates between the hours of 6 am and 7 pm, Monday through Sunday and services the Province of Ontario.
There are no major contaminants, and none of these processes releases emissions into the atmosphere. The facility is approximately 1,389 square metres in size, and processes approximately 900 cubic metres a day of liquefied soil from hydrovac vehicles. Processing equipment includes a series of mechanical screens, centrifuge, and holding tanks. All receiving and processing of material is completed within the facility.
Residue wastewater is stored in tanks, and recycled for use to refill the hydrovac trucks. The residue waste soil is stored outside in a bermed area and covered. No more than 500 cubic metres of waste soil will be stored outside at any time. The residue waste soil from the process will be mixed with dry non-contaminated soil received from utility and housing development excavations to create a dryer material. Residue waste soil is removed off-site by an approved hauler to an approved disposal site.
ReSoil Solutions Inc. is applying to amend its Environmental Compliance Approval No. 2586-CF9HBP to accept dry non-contaminated soil from utility and housing excavations to mix with the processed residue waste soil. The amount of excavated dry soil accepted at the facility will not exceed 400 cubic metres per month, and the total amount material stored outside will not exceed the facility's current approval for 500 cubic metres, at any time.
