A new Environmental Compliance Approval (Approval No. 6198-D54PNV) is granted to Karma Tekchen Zabsal Ling for the onsite sewage works serving a new accessory residential building and the existing two storey religious institution building (including temple and residence) located at 13900 Leslie Street in the Town of Aurora, with a total daily maximum flow of 12,310 litres per day.

The proposed new septic system servicing the new 8-bedroom accessory residential building with 153 square metres of living area, with a daily maximum flow of 4,000 litres per day, consisting of the following:

  • One two-compartment pre-cast concrete anaerobic digestion tank
  • One 13,600 litres pre-cast concrete biofilter tank Model BA-40
  • One proposed partially raised Type A dispersal bed rated for 4,000 litres per day

The existing approved septic system servicing the existing two storey religious institution building (including temple and residence), with a maximum daily flow of 8,310 litres per day, consisting of the following:

  • One two-compartment pre-cast concrete Septic Tank
  • One raw sewage pump tank with a capacity of 4,500 litres
  • One 18,000 litres pre-cast concrete biofilter tank
  • One existing partially raised Type A dispersal bed rated for 8,310 litres per day

What is considered

The appeal body will consider the following two questions in deciding whether to grant you leave to appeal:

  1. is there is good reason to believe that no reasonable person, with respect to the relevant law and to any government policies developed to guide decisions of that kind, could have made the decision?
  2. could the decision you wish to appeal result in significant harm to the environment?

Proposal details

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (sewage) for the establishment of subsurface disposal works to service a residential accessory building, located at 13900 Leslie Street in the Town of Aurora, Region of York, Ontario.

The proposed works include:

  • one Anaerobic digester tank
