The changes to the site plan for ARA Licence No. 4114 were approved by the Director on July 21,2023
The approval allows Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited to fill the quarry with imported excess soil to the previously existing grades, changing the final end-use from a lake to the original landform, which would backfill the site to an elevation of 125 to 135 metres above sea level (masl).

The concerns were addressed through changes to the site plan, and as the filling will have to follow the direction of Ontario Regulation 244/97 and Ontario Regulation 406/19, as amended from time to time.

Application has been made by Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited to amend the current site plan to allow cohesive rehabilitation with the proposed fill-to-grade-details, changes to the final end-use from a deep lake to the original landform, which would backfill the site to an elevation of 125 to 135 masl. Updated site plan notes throughout drawings to address all changes.

The proposal request for this licence is being circulated within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. Additionally, notification of this application has been forwarded to the City of Ottawa, Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, Ministry of Transportation, and landowners within 120 metres of the subject property for comment.
