Original proposal
Proposal details
The Township of Manitouwadge adopted the proposed official plan on October 26, 2022 by By-law No. 2022-41. The plan will replace the existing Official Plan for the Township of Manitouwadge which became effective on June 8, 1987. The plan will provide guidance and direction for the development and planning decisions within the Township of Manitouwadge to the 2047 planning horizon. The proposed plan will be reviewed for consistency with the Provincial Policy Statement and matters of provincial interest, as expressed in the Planning Act. This includes the protection of ecological systems, conservation and management of natural resources, supply of affordable housing, the provision of employment opportunities and protection of economic well-being, efficient land use, conservation of energy and water, waste management, climate change mitigation and adaptation, among other interests. The proposed official plan is a result of the Township of Manitouwadge's review of the official plan currently in effect for the municipality, as required under section 26 of the Planning Act.
The adopted official plan has been forwarded to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing by the Municipality for a decision. Pursuant to subsections 17(36.5) and (38.1) and subsection 21(3) of the Planning Act, the decision of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing regarding an official plan adopted in accordance with section 26 is final and not subject to appeal.
