Proposal details
This proposal is for an Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), which replaces all the current Environmental Compliance Approvals for air at this facility and includes the addition of new, or historically unapproved, sources for all emissions from Meridian Lightweight Technologies Inc., a magnesium auto parts manufacturing facility located in the Township of Strathroy-Cardoc, Ontario.
This proposal is for:
- the addition of two new CNC machining centres
- the removal of one gas fired pressure washer in Plant A
- the addition of nine new CNC machining centers
- one new electric pressure washer in the tool room in Plant B
- the addition of six new CNC machining centres in Plant C
Contaminant emissions to the air from this facility include:
- nitrogen oxides and other products of combustion
- phenoxypropanol
- magnesium oxide
- hydrogen fluoride
- particulate matter
The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (sir), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air).
The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
