Original proposal
Proposal details
This proposal is for an amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval No. 5389-C6NQE6 for the replacement and installation of four individual sewage works at the Chesley Lake Campground, located at as 45 Chapel Crescent, 67 Chapel Crescent, 68 Chapel Crescent and 3 Eastside Drive in South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario. Each existing sewage system will be replaced with a new Class IV filter bed.
The larger Chesley Lake Campground contains numerous individual leased parcels of land. These leased parcels of land have been developed as “cottage” type properties but are not legally separated lots. Historically, the individual sewage system permits for each leased parcel of land were granted through the public health unit, and subsequently through the Municipal Building Department (i.e. under the Ontario Building Code).
All sewage systems at the property are required to be captured under a single ECA. This requirement was implemented through Condition 8 of Environmental Compliance Approval No. 5389-C6NQE6 issued on September 27, 2021.
