Original proposal
Proposal details
This proposal is for an Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), which replaces all the current Environmental Compliance Approvals for air at this facility, and includes the addition of new, or historically unapproved, sources for all emissions from Pinty's Delicious Foods Inc., a chicken processing facility located in the County of Brant, Ontario.
The emission sources from the manufacturing and associated processes that exhaust to the air include:
- natural gas fired combustion equipment
- thermal fluid heaters
- natural gas fired steam boilers
- fryer exhaust
- hot air cooking oven exhausts
- belt-grill exhaust
- oven exhausts
- char-maker exhaust
- tumbler exhausts
- evaporative cooling towers
The amendment is to include an additional product processing line and associated ancillary equipment which includes a hot air oven with two exhaust stacks, one belt-grill with a singular exhaust stack, one char-maker with a singular exhaust stack, and the addition of a natural gas steam boiler and natural gas thermal heater.
Emissions to the air from this facility include:
- carbon dioxide
- soybean oil
- 9-octadecenoic acid
- propionaldehyde
- hexaldehyde
- glyoxal
- suspended particulate matter
- products of combustion such as nitrogen oxides
The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air), when issued, permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air).
The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
