Amendment to Aggregate Resources Act (ARA) licence No. 4469 was approved by the Director, Divisional Delivery Branch on May 26, 2023.
The approval allows E. Dennison Contracting Inc. to increase the number of tonnes of aggregate that may be removed in a calendar year from 120,000 tonnes annually to 175,000 tonnes annually. This increase addresses the higher demand for aggregates in the area.

Proposal details
Application has been made by Elmer Dennison (Estate) to vary a condition of the current licence to authorize an increase in the number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed in a calendar year. The current licence condition states that “It is a condition of this licence that no more than 120,000 tonnes of material be removed in any one calendar year”. Elmer Dennison (Estate) has requested that the tonnage limit be increased to 175,000 tonnes annually.
The increase has been requested by the licensee to address the higher demand for aggregates in the area.

Elmer Dennison (Estate) operates the licenced site under the authority of Aggregate Resources Act licence No. 4469. In total, 38 hectares are currently licenced as a pit.

The proposal request for this licence was circulated within the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry. Additionally, notification of this application has been forwarded to the Town of Minto and the County of Wellington, for comment.
