The licence was amended authorizing an increase in the number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed in a calendar year. The annual tonnage condition was increased from 273,000 tonnes to 500,000 tonnes annually.

St. Mary’s Cement Inc. (Canada) has applied to allow an increase in the number of tonnes of aggregate that may be removed in a calendar year. The current licence allows for the removal of a maximum of 273,000 tonnes of material annually. St Mary’s Cement Inc. (Canada) has requested that the tonnage limit be increased to 500,000 tonnes annually.
This increase has been requested by the licensee to address the higher demand for aggregates in the area.

St. Mary’s Cement Inc. (Canada) operates the licenced site under the authority of Aggregate Resources Act licence No. 2260. In total, 34 hectares are currently licenced as a pit.

The proposal request for this licence is being circulated within the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry. Additionally, notification of this application has been forwarded to the Township of Zorra and Oxford County, for comment.
