Decision details
A change to the site plan for ARA Licence No. 625492 was approved by the Regional Director September 17, 2021.
The approval allows Cedarwell Excavating Ltd.to increase the number of tonnes of aggregate that may be removed in a calendar year from 50,000 tonnes to 100,000 tonnes annually. This increase addresses the higher demand for aggregates in the area.

Effects of consultation
No comments were received in response to the Environmental Registry notice. However, as a result of the ARA notification process, one (1) letter was received stating that they had no concerns with the proposed tonnage increase.

Proposal details
Cedarwell Excavating Ltd. has applied to amend the current site plan to allow an increase in the number of tonnes of aggregate that may be removed in a calendar year. The current site plan allows for the removal of a maximum of 50,000 tonnes of material annually. Cedarwell Excavating Ltd. has requested that the tonnage limit be increased to 100,000 tonnes annually.
This increase has been requested by the licensee to address the higher demand for aggregates in the area.

Cedarwell Excavating Ltd. operates the licenced site under the authority of licence No. 625492 under the ARA In total, 33.5 hectares are currently licenced as a pit.
Public consultation opportunities
The proposal request for this licence is being circulated within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. Additionally, notification of this application has been forwarded to the Municipality of West Grey and County of Grey, for comment. Landowners within 120m of the site were also circulated the proposal.
