Decision details
A varied condition of Aggregate Resources Act (ARA) Licence No. 461 was approved by the Regional Director on May 21, 2021.
The licence was amended authorizing an increase in the number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed in a calendar year. The annual tonnage condition was increased from 100,000 tonnes to 250,000 tonnes annually.

Hope Bay Quarry Inc. has applied to vary a condition of the current licence to authorize an increase in the number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed in a calendar year. The current licence condition allows for the removal of a maximum of 100,000 tonnes of material annually. Hope Bay Quarry Inc. has requested that the tonnage limit be increased to 250,000 tonnes annually.
This increase has been requested by the licensee to address the higher demand for aggregates in the area.

Hope Bay Quarry Inc. operates licensed site under the authority of licence No. 461 under the Aggregate Resources Act. In total 64.7 hectares are currently licensed as a quarry.
