Accordingly, the Official Plan Amendment 34, as approved by the Minister, came into effect on January 21, 2021.

Appeals are not allowed

Pursuant to subsection 17 (36.5) and (38.1) and subsection 21(3) of the Planning Act, the decision of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing regarding Regional Official Plan Amendment 34 adopted in accordance with Section 17 and Section 26 is final and not subject to appeal. Accordingly, the Regional Official Plan amendment 34, as approved by the Minister, came into effect on January 21, 2021.

Peel Region ("Region") adopted ROPA 34 on September 22, 2020 through By-law 19-2020 and has forwarded ROPA 34 to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing ("Ministry") for a decision under sections 17 and 26 of the Planning Act.

ROPA 34 proposes to expand the Mayfield West Rural Service Centre Boundary, of the Peel Region Official Plan by approximately 105 hectares. ROPA 34 also provides an updated policy framework to guide further planning review of the expansion area.

All comments received prior to the posting deadline will be considered as part of the decision-making process by the Ministry if they are submitted by mail or electronically through this Environmental Registry posting. If submitting comments by mail, please reference this posting's ERO (Environmental Registry of Ontario) number: 019-2602.
