Proposal update

The proponent in this proposal was formally posted as Rathwell Gravel.

Proposal details

Rathwell Gravel has applied to vary the tonnage condition of the current licence for licence #4678 to authorize an increase in the number of tonnes of aggregate that can be removed in a calendar year.  The current licence condition allows for the removal of a maximum of 75,000 tonnes of material annually.  Rathwell Gravel has requested that the tonnage condition be increased to allow for the removal of 150,000 tonnes annually.

This increase has been requested by the licensee to address the higher demand of aggregates in the area.

Other information

Rathwell Gravel operates this licensed site under the authority of Licence No. 4678 under the Aggregate Resources Act. In total, 40.62 hectares are currently licensed as a pit below the watertable.
