Proposal details
The proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for industrial stormwater management facility and storm sewer works serving Gerdau Ameristeel Corporation located at the municipal address of 53 Fair Road in the City of Guelph for the collection, transmission, treatment and disposal of onsite stormwater runoff from a total catchment area of 1.49 hectares, to provide Enhanced Level water quality protection and erosion control, and to attenuate post-development peak flows to allowable peak flows for all storm up to a 5-year design storm event, consisting of the following:
- one (1) proposed oil and grit separator to treat runoff from a catchment area of 1.49 hectares: Stormceptor EFO8 unit or equivalent unit located at the southwest corner of the subject property providing an enhanced level of protection, having a sediment storage capacity of 1.190 cubic metres, and oil storage capacity of 545 litres, a total storage volume of approximately 1.735 cubic metres, and a estimated water quality flow rate of 51.13 litres per second, receiving inflow from the proposed storm sewer on the subject property
- one (1) stormwater management facility providing quantity control for a catchment area 1.35 hectares consisting of 36.2 metre of 525 millimeter diameter pipe storage from CBMH.2 to CBMH.3 and parking lot storage with a total depth of 0.20 metre located at the new catchbasins (CB.1, CBMH.2 and CBMH.3) with a 525 millimetre diameter storm outlet pipe equipped with a 350 millimetre diameter orifice located within DICB.3 allowing a maximum discharge of 0.287 cubic metres per second under the 5-year design storm event providing a total storage volume of 71.5 cubic metres
- proposed storm sewers on the subject property ranging from 200 mm to 525 mm diameter discharging to the existing municipal ditch located on Fair Road
- including erosion/sedimentation control measures during construction and all other controls and appurtenances essential for the proper operation of the aforementioned works
