Proposal details

This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for the use and operation of a Waste Disposal Site with a total area of 6,750 square meters, to be used for processing/transfer of non-hazardous waste, limited to catch basin waste, grease trap waste and other domestic waste.

The maximum waste received daily would be 18 cubic meters per day. The total amount of solid waste on-site will not exceed 19 cubic meters at any one time, and liquid waste will not exceed 12.1 cubic meters.

Wastewater treatment consists of settling and flocculation before discharge to City of Hamilton sanitary sewer. Treated wastewater is stored in two (2) storage tanks prior to the release to the sewer and settled solids are disposed of off-site.

The waste disposal site is to serve the Province of Ontario. The typical hours of operation are from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Saturday. However, the site schedule for receiving and processing is dictated by client operations and may periodically require 24-hour operation in emergency situations.
