Why consultation isn't required
On April 1, 2020, the Ontario Government made a temporary regulation to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. Ontario Regulation 115/20 exempts all proposals for policies, acts, regulations and instruments from posting requirements under the EBR until 30 days after the declared emergency is terminated.
Proposal details
This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for industrial sewage treatment and stormwater management works servicing EcoVac Solutions Ltd., located at 60A Baywood Road in the City of Toronto, Ontario.
The stormwater management works comprise of stormwater quality and quantity control, and include diversion of runoff to tanks used for materials processing. Outdoor drainage catchment areas will discharge to nearby storm catchbasins. The area adjacent to the new processing facility will collect and direct stormwater to the on-site process water treatment system.
The industrial sewage treatment works are comprised of materials collection, sedimentation separation, centrifuge dewatering, and clay and granular activated carbon filtration polishing. Treatment equipment is designed to meet effluent quality requirements for reuse in hydro-excavation activities or prior to discharge to existing on-site sanitary sewers when required.
The ministry may require monitoring of the industrial wastewater and stormwater effluent discharge leaving the site.
