Why consultation isn't required
On April 1, 2020, the Ontario Government made a temporary regulation to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. Ontario Regulation 115/20 exempts all proposals for policies, acts, regulations and instruments from posting requirements under the EBR until 30 days after the declared emergency is terminated.
Proposal details
This proposal is to amend the Environmental Compliance Approval (Air & Noise) No. 8309-AX9QCL for CMS Ontario Limited, a margarine, pie filling, and doughnut production plant located in the City of Toronto, Ontario.
This amendment is to reflect updates to the facility including the addition of a doughnut frying process as well as new equipment including:
- a make up air unit
- unit heater
- thermal boiler
- fryer exhausts
- cooling tower
The sources at the facility include:
- air handling and heating units
- cooling towers
- dryers, boilers
- general building exhaust
Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:
- ethyl alcohol
- nitrogen oxides
- sodium hypochlorite
- particulate matter
