This proposal notice is being updated on May 21, 2020 to advise the public that the permit application is still under review and the Ministry is considering concerns raised by an Aboriginal community which warrant additional time to adequately consider. The original proposal date and comment period have not been altered. The anticipated date of decision will be within 30 days of the lifting of the state of emergency relating to COVID-19.

Decision details
On September 4, 2020 the ministry issued an exploration permit 90 kilometres southeast of Timmins.
This permit will allow the company to carry out the following activities.
- mechanized drilling (where the drill weight is greater than 150 kilograms)
And the following plan activities are included:
- line cutting (less than 1.5 metres in width)
- geophysical survey requiring generator type
The exploration permit was issued once all Indigenous communities and the public had the opportunity to provide comment or raise their concerns. The issued exploration permit is valid for a period of three years from the date of issue.
Effects of consultation
No comment was received through the Environmental Registry of Ontario resulting in no impact on the decision to proceed or not with this proposal.

Proposal details
Orefinders Resources Incorporated has submitted an application to the ministry as required under the Mining Act for prescribed early exploration activities
The activities that this permit would allow Orefinders Resources Incorporated to carry out are as follows:
- mechanized drilling (Assembled weight greater than 150 kilograms)
- line cutting (less than 1.5 meter width)
- geophysical survey requiring generator type
An Exploration Permit does not relieve the proponent from compliance with any other requirements that are set out under the Mining Act or any other Act. Further all activities included in the Exploration Permit proposal must be carried out in compliance with Ontario Regulation 308/12 and the Provincial Standards for Early Exploration.
The Exploration Permit duration will be up to 3 years with the possibility of one renewal for up to 3 years.
