Original proposal
Proposal details
Application has been made by St. Marys Cement Inc. (Canada) to vary a condition of the current licence, # 5489 (known as the Ayr Pit), to authorize an increase in the number of tonnes of aggregate to be removed in a calendar year. The current licence condition states that “no more than 600,000 tonnes of material shall be removed in any one calendar year” St. Marys Cement Inc. (Canada) has requested that the tonnage limit be increased to 700,000 tonnes annually, and that it be in combination with the adjacent licence # 624927, issued to the same licensee. This increase has been requested by the licensee to address the higher demand for aggregates in the area.
Other information
St. Marys Cement Inc. (Canada) operates this site under the authority of licence # 5489 under the Aggregate Resources Act; 93.89 hectares are licensed as a pit.
