Original proposal
Proposal details
Application has been made by Erie Sand Gravel Limited to amend the current site plan to allow for an increase in the allowable annual tonnage to be removed from the site from 100,000 tonnes to 250,000 tonnes.
Other information
Erie Sand Gravel Limited operates this licensed site under the authority of Licence # 20240 under the Aggregate Resources Act. Excavation is to be within 0.5 metres of the watertable. In total 4.79 hectares are currently licenced as a pit. The annual tonnage condition is 100,000 tonnes. The increase in tonnage would allow Erie Sand Gravel Limited to meet a high-volume, urgent, and local need for aggregate. It is anticipated that, as a result, the site will be depleted of aggregate thus allowing the site to be completely rehabilitated at a quicker rate than present.
Other public consultation opportunities
This proposal request has been circulated within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Aylmer District office. Additionally, notification of this application has been forwarded to the Town of Kingsville, and the County of Essex.
