Site location details
Musselwhite is located in the Patricia Mining District in Northwestern Ontario. The property is situated approximately 76 km southeast of Round Lake First Nation, 130 km north of Pickle Lake and 470 km northwest of Thunder Bay. The mine is serviced by an all season road from Pickle Lake. Mine staff and visitors fly in by regularly scheduled charter flight. The flight is direct from Thunder Bay and takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Description of Instrument
Goldcorp-Musselwhite has submitted a Mine Closure Plan for filing by the Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines as required under the Mining Act. The following are the major components of this Closure Plan Amendment as proposed by Goldcorp-Musselwhite:
- Update to tailings deposition strategy including raising above 328m
- Addition and monitoring of reclamation plots in the tailings management area
- Potential in-pit disposal options for tailings and/or sulphide concentrate
- Potential spillway development from the open pit to the polishing pond
- Updates to the mine plan including modification of the esker shaft to a ventilation raise
- Addition of an underground shaft (winze) and general mine plan updates
- Update of the Financial Assurance to align with Goldcorp’s current closure cost model (current letter of credit is for $29M likely to increase to over $45M.)
- Tailings Discharge Dyke Raising Construction (Stage 6 North Dyke & Stage 7 Dyke)
